Anna Laniado has practiced criminal defense for years, in both State and Federal Courts. She has vigorously defended individuals involved in complex criminal litigation and charged with criminal offenses including mail and wire fraud, mortgage fraud, health care fraud, economic crimes, money laundering, drug trafficking, grand jury investigations, first degree murder, and domestic violence.
Ms. Laniado’s criminal defense practice is well complemented by her experience in immigration law, other complex litigation, as well as, transactional matters. Ms. Laniado is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Hebrew, and has working knowledge of Dutch and German. Her international background, breadth of professional and academic experience coupled with her dedication to her clients makes her the perfect advisor to foreign nationals over a broad spectrum of their legal affairs.
Anna Laniado obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University College London. Upon graduation from her Masters in International Relations at the London School of Economics, she was able to practice her passion for international human rights law while working for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and at the British Institute for International and Comparative law. After completing her studies at City University in London and at the Inns of Courts School of Law in London, Anna Laniado was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2002. She was also admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008 after obtaining an LLM and her Juris Doctor at the University of Miami, School of Law. She is also admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Anna Laniado worked at the Public Defender’s Office in the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida and then proceeded to expand her career in criminal defense and immigration matters in boutique law firms where she worked as an associate for former United States Assistant Attorneys and Federal Public Defenders.
